CHF organizes a quiz competition for Junior and Senior High Schools in Kasoa

In our strong and sincere desire to improve the standard of education in the Awutu Senya District, we organize regular quiz competitions and award prizes to successful candidates as a means of motivation to the students. Our recent quiz competition was organized on the 19th of March, 2010 for both Primary and Junior High schools. Invited schools were Great Promise School Complex, Raykon International School, Brightest Faith Academy and State Preparatory. Unfortunately, State Preparatory was not present due to a situation beyond their control.  The subject areas for the quiz were English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Three contestants were presented by each school for both Primary and Junior High school categories.

The quiz started at exactly 1:00pm and ended at 3:30pm. The venue for the quiz was Great Promise School. Separate sections were organized for the Primary and Junior High schools. Quiz Masters for Primary and Junior High were Lucian Reed-Drake (a volunteer from Bristol, UK), Mr. Emmanuel Bonney, Mr. Otabil Aggrey and Mr. Freeman Ahegbebu.

The quiz was very successful and threw a lot of challenges to all students and teachers who were present from the various schools. Most teachers and pupils suggested that such programs be organized more often to help raise the interest of education as a result of the keen competition during the quiz program between schools.

At the end of the competition, Great Promise School Complex was placed 1st for both Primary and Junior High, Raykon International placed 2nd and Brightest Faith Academy achieved third position.

The Executive Programs Director, Mr. Eric Opoku Agyemang used this opportunity to advise and encourage students and pupils present to take their studies more seriously since it is a major tool towards their future prospects and career. He also promised that such competitions will be organized more often to help achieve the vision of the organization for the district.

Mr. Reed-Drake a volunteer from UK, presented awards to all candidates after the quiz completion.

Awards presented were based on position placed after the competition. The prizes are tabulated below:
