If you are a student or professional in healthcare delivery or public health, CHF has several opportunities for you to contribute your skills or to learn more about health care delivery in a developing country. We provide health volunteering and internship opportunities in partnership with the Ghana Health Service (Awutu Senya District) and private health institutions in Ghana. There are positions available for volunteers or interns who would like to work in or learn more about areas such as:
In addition to opportunities in direct healthcare delivery, CHF offers positions to work in public health, working towards better access and health awareness in the Kasoa area. The public health team is involved in several projects, including giving educational talks at local schools on health topics including HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, and performing research projects on various public health topics. Research projects are always changing based on the timelines of specific projects as well as funding. The research projects that the CHF Public Health team is currently working on are:
Assessing the impact and effectiveness of malaria educational talks in local schools
Assessing the needs of the Kasoa Health Centre and how CHF can best use its resources to improve health outcomes.
Healthcare and public health volunteers or interns are welcome to come any time of year. We typically ask for at least a four week commitment.
If you cannot find the health internship or volunteering opportunity that you are looking for on the website, you can request for a specific opportunity and we will do our best to find you a placement that will satisfy your interests. We will also gladly accommodate any professionals with specialized skills that can help us accomplish our mission.
