We provide health volunteering and internship opportunities in partnership with the Ghana Health Service (Awutu Senya District) and private health institutions in Ghana.   • In addition to opportunities in direct healthcare delivery, CHF offers positions to work in public health, working towards better access and health awareness in the Kasoa area. The public health team is involved in several projects, including giving educational talks at local schools on health topics including HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, and performing research projects on various public health topics. Research projects are always changing based on the timelines of specific projects as well as funding. The research projects that the CHF Public Health team is currently working on are:

    Assessing the impact and effectiveness of malaria educational talks in local schools
    Assessing the needs of the Kasoa Health Centre and how CHF can best use its resources to improve health outcomes.

    Healthcare and public health volunteers or interns are welcome to come any time of year. We typically ask for at least a four week commitment.

We will also gladly accommodate any professionals with specialized skills that can help us accomplish our mission.

    Requirements for Healthcare Volunteers and Interns:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • At least a first year student in medical or nursing school, or other medical certification such as EMT, phlebotomy, etc.
  • An understanding of global health issues is highly preferred
  • The flexibility to contribute to different activities depending on the changing needs of the clinic, hospital, etc.
